ABOB's Rabbits for Sale

This is our sales policy. Please read before choosing a rabbit.

Quality

·         Show Quality

Ø  Meets the ARBA standard of Perfection

Ø  No Disqualifications that I am aware of at time of sale

Ø  I cannot guarantee that any rabbit sold as show quality will win on the show table as different judges have different opinions on what a winning rabbit should look like.

·         Brood Quality

Ø  May have faults or non-genetic disqualifications that will keep it from winning or showing on the show table, but should be an asset to a breeding program.

Ø  I cannot guarantee that any rabbit I sell will produce kits, especially if the rabbit is purchased at less than 6 months of age.

·         Pet Quality

Ø  Too many faults or disqualifications to be a show or brood rabbit.

·         All rabbits come with a pedigree.

·         All rabbits will be sold healthy to the best of our knowledge at the time of sale.

·         We will go over the prospective rabbit with you to make sure you are receiving a healthy rabbit.

·         We have the right to refuse a sale for any reason.

Holding Policy:

Pending - Someone is interested in the rabbit but has not put a deposit on it.

Hold - a 50% deposit has been put on a rabbit.

Sold - The rabbit has been paid in full.

·         A 50% deposit will hold a rabbit. No rabbit is considered on hold until a deposit is received.

·         You will be notified by e-mail or phone as soon as I receive the deposit.

·         Rabbits will be held for 2 weeks after deposit is received unless previous arrangements have been made with us.

·         If a rabbit is not picked up in 2 weeks, or the arranged amount of time, the rabbit will go back up for sale and the deposit is forfeit.

·         The balance due for the rabbit will be paid when the rabbit is picked up.

·         Rabbits being held are considered the property of A Basket of Blessings Rabbitry until they have been paid in full.

Delivery

·         We do not ship rabbits.

·         Arrangements within reason may be made to meet you to deliver a rabbit.

·         I will bring a rabbit to a show I am attending if you contact me at least 24 hours before the day of the show. You must pick up the rabbit by 11 am at the show.

·         You must provide your own carrier to take the rabbit home in.

Refunds / Exchanges

·         Exchanges of equal value will only be made if I sold you the wrong sex of rabbit than what you paid for.

·         Once a rabbit leaves my possession its health is up to you.  NO refunds will be given for death or illness due to improper handling, feeding, housing, care, accidents, use or cases of extreme stress (temperature changes, traveling, birthing, etc.) or if you decide you just don't want the rabbit (loss of deposit).

Policy Changes

.

All policies are subject to change at any time as we feel necessary. Prices may go up or down at our discretion depending on the show quality of the rabbit. Rabbits may also be taken off the for sale list at our discretion as well before a purchase has been arranged. Once the rabbit is said to be purchased (I have been contacted and a deposit sent or arrangements made) the price will be set until the rabbit is picked up or in the possession of the owner. If a sale falls through that price may be subject to change.

New to Rabbit Ownership?

Hi! Are you new to rabbits? Have you ever owned one or maybe you did a long time ago and are wanting to get another one or start raising them? Please read my information pages to help bring you up to speed on rabbit ownership. Here at a Basket of Blessings Rabbitry we want your experience with rabbits to be a good one. We want you to get the best possible rabbit for you.

Many people get a rabbit and then find out they have habits that they were not prepared for like a spraying buck or nipping, or are more work than they bargained for and the rabbit ends up being the one losing a home.

If you are getting a pet as a gift for a friend or a child, please make sure that the person wants a rabbit and it is all right with the parents of the child or teenager before purchasing it.

If you are getting a pet for a child, please know that children under 10 years of age usually are not capable of caring for a pet rabbit on their own and should be supervised at all times when they are around the rabbit. I have heard of several incidents where a rabbit's back or other body part was severly injured because a young child squeezed a rabbit too hard and injured its back and it had to be put down, or grabbed a rabbit by the foot, tail or ears and caused an injury.

If you find that you cannot take care of your rabbit, please find it a good home and don't drop it off at a shelter if you can help it. If you bought a rabbit from me, I will take back the rabbit, but I will probably not be able to refund your money. The rabbit must come with its cage and feed equipment as I may not have cage space for it. Because of an incident that came up on one of the rabbit forums I am a member of, I feel like I need to explain why I do not refund your money. Raising as many rabbits as I do costs alot of money. Cages and equipment to care for 70 plus rabbits is not cheap. I sell my rabbits not only to give you a great little friend, but to fund my rabbitry. Like most of you, money is tight and I need all I can get to keep up with the costs of my rabbits. You may pay me and then 2 weeks later find you can't keep the rabbit for whatever reason. I will have already spent that money to feed, house and care for the rest of my herd. I will probably not have the money to give back to you. I try to keep my rabbits at a reasonable amount of money because I know times are tough, but a $35.00 - $40.00 rabbit already has $100.00 plus put into it by the time you get it due to getting good stock, cages, feed and water equipment, straw, hay, feed supplements, medicines, grooming supplies, showing costs, etc. So in essence I am losing money by charging the prices I do. Then if I were to give your money back, I would have a rabbit I will have to find another home for and I am out the money that would have gone to the other rabbits. It costs money and time to feed and care for it until I sell it, possible advertising costs, etc. That is why it is in your best interest to research rabbits and the type of rabbit you want before you purchase one. Please don't judge me harshly because I have to do this. I ask you to put yourself in my place.
